
The Alexa Memorial Scholarship
Tethered by Grace, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to advance animal welfare and advocacy by strengthening the bond between dogs and people through ethical stewardship, education, support, therapeutic work, and community connection. The organization promotes responsible, compassionate care by providing credible, evidence-based resources, and by empowering individuals committed to animal-centered education, training, therapeutic or service-based work, and community advocacy.
The Alexa Memorial Scholarship
Purpose: The Alexa Memorial Scholarship of Tethered By Grace supports individuals pursuing education or training aligned with animal health, animal welfare, ethical stewardship, advocacy, and service-based animal work. This scholarsship aims to reduce financial barriers for individuals committed to improving the lives of dogs and strengthening responsible human–animal relationships.
Use of Funds: two $500 scholarships awarded:
1) Traditional Student and 2) Tethered by Grace Ambassador. Scholarship funds are paid directly to accredited educational institutions, training programs, or qualifying organizations whenever possible. In limited cases, funds may be used to support the development of educational programs or initiatives that directly advance the charitable mission of Tethered By Grace Inc., subject to board approval and oversight.
ELIGIBILITY:
Scholarships may be awarded to individuals at any stage of life, including students, career-changers, and community members pursuing traditional or nontraditional animal-related pathways. (For example,
post-secondary education in animal health or sciences; service-animal training; veterinary classes;
ethical breeding education; and more.)
Applicants must demonstrate alignment with the mission and values of Tethered By Grace Inc.
Selection Criteria: Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of demonstrated financial need, merit, commitment to animal welfare and advocacy, and the proposed mission-aligned use of funds.
